At the actor grounds on Wednesday evening the Abbotsford team defeated Tocative and Stave Falls in a lopsided exhibition ending 23 to 12. The official scorer struggled to keep up as spectators enjoyed a brisk, noisy game. Mount Lehman residents enjoyed a July 1 municipal hall picnic with speeches by Rev. Mr. Reid and Mr. H R Phillips. A lacrosse game between Matsqui and Mount Lehman ended 6 to 3. The day featured sports, an old country boat and a community dance.

Matsqui council meets at municipal hall July fourth

Mission City Pioneer Goes to Great Beyond
The mortal remains of George Dugald of Mission City were interred at Hatzie cemetery after services by Rev J Thorburn Conn of the Presbyterian church. A Neeside Scotland native who came to the Braser Valley, he worked as an engineer including on the Mission ferry and faced months of illness with patience. He made many friends by helping others and his passing evokes sympathy for his widow.
