Quadrille Club Dance Draws Large Turnout in Alexandria Hall
The Quadrille Club held its regular fortnightly dance at Alexandria Hall on Friday January 28 drawing a larger attendance than usual, especially of ladies. A new feature the ladies buttin sky walls was performed twice, with many partners joining in. The last 1913 council meeting was held January 19 in the municipal hall with the Reeve presiding and all members present. Minutes from January 27 and a revision court were read. Reports and allocations followed including road work, cemetery sales, tax rebates, and by law adjustments. The new council convened January 19, 1914, with Melander Satchell Beaton as finance committee. applications for assessor posts were sought. board of works to be appointed. and initial by law steps approved. A Burns supper and program followed with songs, toasts, and dances.

Death of Nora Walters Nine Year Old in Abbotsford
The death occurred Saturday of Nora Walters nine year old daughter of Mr and Mrs T Walters. The funeral was held with Rev Campbell and Rev My Read officiating. Pallbearers included Abbotsford Boys Scouts members J Parton E Chester J Olsen C Trethewey T Lovedar. Her mother is daughter of the late Mr Defalr who died Thursday.

Abbotsford Loyal Orange Lodge, with the deceased as a prominent member, attended in a body. Pallbearers included M. McGillivray, F. Munros, F. McCrimmon Barr, E. Austin, and W. Fraser.

Aberdeen Cemetery Lands and Council Budget Actions
The council discussed a temporary loan by law in anticipation of this year’s revenue. Regular monthly meetings will be the first Saturday of each month at the municipal hall. All accounts must be vouched and forwarded to Mt. Lehman clerk by month end or payments will be delayed. The clerk announced retirement but will be retained until the Assessment Roll is prepared. The meeting adjourned to February 7 at 11 a.m.
