The Mission City Telephone Company held its annual meeting in the Council Chambers with strong shareholder attendance. New directors elected include T H Northcote Mission H Hayton Matsqui J A Catherwood and J H Lawrence J A Hargitt. J A Catherwood was named president and J A Hargitt secretary. Wages for acting manager Melvin Crist rose to 55 a month. A war fund matinee and evening program raised 30 as proceeds.

Future sociable evenings will be held on Wednesdays. Bugler P Fossett of the 104th battalion visited his parents Mr and Mrs Tossett. Mrs Ware and her son Clifford visited Mrs Redmond. Grace Featherstone from Westminster visits her sister Mrs G Madill. Liversage of Clayburn offers 9 volumes of Redpath History at 25 cents a ticket. Mrs John H Campbell of Abbotsford will reside in Mission until after the war with her husband at the front.

Coun Coun Coun Coun brought up at Matsqui Council the matter of two stations being named Matsqui one on the C P R and the other on the C N R. He pointed out that as these two stations are in different parts of the municipality there was great confusion. Councillor Owens proposed changing both names to avoid confusion since the municipality is designed as Matsqui. The matter was laid over for consideration.
