A wedding at Clayburn Presbyterian church featured Mr Charles Wykes and Miss Maggie Purvis. After a noon ceremony Rev T L Miller officiated, followed by a wedding breakfast at the bride’s sister Mrs Samuel Young home. The couple planned a short honeymoon in Vancouver before settling in Clayburn.
The Upper Sumas Women’s Institute and the Farmers’ Institute host their regular annual gathering this Friday in the Alexandria room at Huntingdon instead of the Municipal Hall. WA. A program or guest may be expected.

A citizen urges the Mission City board of trade to adopt a curfew ringing at eight each evening. The proposal targets youths eighteen and under to deter loitering on streets with a night watchman enforcement plan.

A New Year’s Eve concert and dance is planned at Garley Hall with sketches gongs recitations and local and Huntingdon participants. An after supper will be served and the event promises good music from the orchestra and a memorable evening for all attendees.
The Matsqui council expects a reeve race in January amid heavy tax debts and a credit maintained by 1915 council. Current leader Resve Cruicshank may not run again, with Melander and McCallum seen as possible candidates though not contending directly. Nomination opens January 10, election January 15.
