Cooling Plant 18 Contemplated in Fraser Valley

The B C Berry Growers Cooperative Union plans a modern pre cooling and refrigerating plant in New Westminster to handle small fruit for the 1924 crop. The facility would also store bees and potatoes year round, with space to ease seasonal fruit rushes. Cold Storage Commissioner J A Ruddick endorses the plan and notes overhead sharing is essential. The union leased five water lots from the city with option on five more, while space beside Westminster Ice Co may house the plant and machinery for both operations.
