Matsqui Council Faces Budget Constraints on Ditch Projects
Matsqui council lacks funds for further work though residents eager to do tasks and be paid later. Two petitions prompted agreements to spend up to 300 dollars on lumber for a ditch draining Skonge Harris and Cust roads, with petitioners to wait six months for payment. A second project with Mr Loth Sivard to dig a 15 rod ditch on Turner road to divert water faced repairs after neglect, needing 400 dollars, and Sivard’s family experienced a near drowning of his child recently.
