Matsqui School Board Meets in Gifford Hall on August Evening
The Matsqui school board held its regular meeting at M. A. and H. Hall Gifford with full board present. Minutes were read and a motion approved. Trustees discussed re-shingling and tar work at Peardonville, roofing of outbuildings, a well for Matsqui, and a drainage outlet request for Beharrel and Smith. Tender for Clayburn wood, contract details, and lease notice for old Jubbog School were addressed. Accounts from Bradner, Clayburn, Jubilee, Matsqui, and other schools were approved for payment.

Bailey Struthers Quiet Wedding in Dennison B C
A quiet wedding took place at Dennison B C on Thursday July 30 at one o clock uniting Miss Mary Cecellia Struthers formerly of Sydenham Ont with Mr William Bailey. Ceremony by Rev Reid took place in the groom s orchard under evergreens with dahlias and wedding bells. The bride wore cream voile with blue satin trim and shadow lace, a white chiffon veil, roses, and a bouquet of white and pink sweet peas. bridesmaid Miss Alice Bailey wore white silk with pink trim and a pansy corsage bouquet. Groom’s brother James Bailey attended. A wedding breakfast followed under cherry trees. The St Matthews Sunday School picnic is planned for August 8 at Reeve Munro s Wyol station.

Town takes law into own hands over garden cow
In Abbotsford a resident detained a neighbor's cow after it browsed a garden in the absence of a poundkeeper. The owner paid $2 to cover garden damage and court costs. Meanwhile Messers Ferguson Dudden Hary Hammond and Mr Pegran left Monday to join the 104th Regiment in the Terminal City.
