The Spiperil Powder Company, with two large plants in Chemalis Wash, plans a branch near Abbotsford under the name Dominion Powder Company Limited. It has bought a 10 acre site from D. McCrim near Abbotsford north of the CG railway. The Imperial explosive brand will be produced. box factory to follow. Initial employment 120 staff. Vancouver will host the company office.

Matsqui Council Sets Two Monthly Meetings in Mt Lehman and Gifford
Matsqui council, to hear ratepayers, plans two monthly meetings one at Mt Lehman and one at Gifford. Last Monday, Gilford hosted the session led by Ree e Merryfield with Councillors Bell Melander and Sachell. Delegations requested roads bridges canals and a chicken dinner while petitions urged road improvements, sidewalk permits, pole installations, and a planned dyking district. A new ward election was ordered. health matters and subdivision plans were reviewed and accounts paid. The council adjourned to meet April 26 at Mt Lehman.

Tay Kam Captured for Mission City Murder Trial
Tay Kam, sought for the February murder of Jay Song in Mission City, was captured in Cumberland last week and appeared for preliminary trial in Mission City on Wednesday. He was committed for further proceedings at New Westminster. Mrs. B. J. Gurney returned Tuesday from a coastal visit.
