BROTHERSPARTED SINCE FATAL BATTLE OFGETTYSBURG.And Reunited Through Medium of AnANMilnual Confederate Reunion and Newspaper AdvertisingfMrMr. K. IT. Julian, of Slay den, Tonn., nrrived in this city, last Tuesday to hunt his brother, John Julian, a prosperousfarmer living in the Von Or my precinctof Bexar county, on the Medina river.The hunting of these brothers Wednesday morning was the sequel of a touching and romantic history which dates back to the three-davs’ bloody battle of Gettysburg in our civil war. Mr. John Julian has lived in Bexarcounty for the past thirty years, well known to a large circle of friends among our old families, vet he has mourned the death of his brother all these years.Their father reared them in the Tennessee mountains near Nashville afterthe death of their mother and shortlythe breaking out of the civilwar moved to Texas. Mr. Julian, Senior, married in Texas Miss Sarah Black andThe brothl'.Ya*asettled down to farming.ers at the outbreak of hostilities joinedthe same Texas regiment and fought side by side during the war until fatal and awful Gettysburg. When they were separated and the lists of killed and missing as well as the revised rosters, contained neither name,each brother, although surviving thebattle, believed the othqg dead. John,after the surrender of Lee, returned toTexas and settled. E. H. Julian returned to his Tennessee mountain home. Both reared families and it was onlyduring late years when attending confederate Veterans reunions throughout the country and seeing so many brothers and comrades reunited that E. H. Julian conceived the idea that perhaps his brother was not dead. He insertedan advertisement in the Farmers’ Home Journal inquiring for any new* of hisbrother and this advertisement was readby John Julian on his farm in Bexar county. lie answered the address given, they corresponded some time and at last established that they were the long separated brothers and comrades. The result, was the visit of Mr. Julian, of Tennessee, this week to his Texas brother and a most touching and affectionate meeting at the old farm. Mr. E. H.
