Stint artist act on race programRace fans httendrog Sunday afternoon's program at Carolina Speedway will be ip for an added treat.Promoter Edgar Gault, several years associated with racing in Gaffney, S.C., has landed stum artist Ken Carter of Canada to bring his act to Gastonia.Carter's show features a long bus jump where Carter drives his ear up a 25-foot ramp, aver a 60-passenger school bus and lands in a pile of cars at therear.He will also present a -motorcycle firewall crash, where he drives through a burning wail.Local drivers will assist Carter in his third act, where lie drives n motorcycle up a’ramp and over seven drivers who will be lying on the ground.* * *TUTS WEEKLY racing pro-gratn will get underway at 2:30 p.m. and five drivers who won at different tracks last week in the sportsman division will be among some 30 drivers seeking the $500 first prize,included in the field will be Shelb/s Stick Elliott, driving a C h o v e 11 e , Kings Mountain’s Freddie Smith in a Fairlano, Larry Wallace in a ’57 Chevy, and Gastonia's Doug Cooper, Haywood Flyfer and Ralph Earnhardt in Chevelles.Elliott, who has won every race this year at Carolina except for one which went to Smith, won last week at Ruther-fordton, Earnhardt came home first at Concord, ar.d Wallace captured last week's feature at Lancaster.Wallace, in fact, lias been thescourge of I be season at Lancaster, where he has won four races. In all, he’s came home first in a dozen events.* * *COOPER HAS returned to racing following a long absence.
