WEDtJfcSDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 1951.Three Area SoldiersAmong 579 Korean WarDead Being ReturnedThree area soldiers are among the 579 Korean war dead being returned to the United States from the Far East for permanent burial, the de-paitment of defense has announced.The bodies of the Amencan soldier.-* who lost their lives fighting in Koiea are being leturned aboard the Hoosier State Victory, which is expected to arrive at Sail Fran-(isco on or about Sept. 29.The area men include Pvt Joseph J. Barney, son of Mrs. Loretta J. Barney, route 2. Fennvilie; Pfc.Sherman H. Caldwell* son of Mrs. Helen Caldwell, Covert, and Cpl. Lloyd M. Decker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Decker, route 1, South Haven.Pfc. Caldwell was killed in action during the heavy fighting inSeptember, 1950. He entered the army in April, 1949, at the age of 18 and served with the 29th division. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two half-brothers, Fred Davis and Glenn Tyler.Cpl. Decker was previously listed as missing in action and last July was officially declared killed in action by the department of defense.
