Carr.Thousands of persons filed past the former governor’s body as it lay in stale in the rotunda of the capitol building.The body was lyought to the capitol at 10 o’clock, escorted by an honor guard from the Colorado national guard. The casket was placed at the west entrance of the rotunda and was banked with redroses and chrysanthemums.It was flanked by Americanand Colorado state flags.Even before the ceremonies started the crowd began to gather. It filled the entire north hall of the building before the first persons were permitted to file past the bier.Silently these persons walked by the casket and out of the south door of the building.The body lay in state for two hours.
