It*tYORK (AP) - Robert FUIton Cutting, 38-year-old so-ciedie and Wall Street broker, shotl himself to death Wednesdayin his family’s eight-story townhouse just off Fifth Avenue.Cutting^ body was Hound in the basement laundry of his home by a friend, Letitia Ambrose. MissAmbrose had been on anotherfloor and did not hear the shot. But she knew Cutting had an appointment with his psychiatrist and went looking for him to remind him of it.Gitting, using an Army-type .45 caliber revolver, had shot himselfonce in the chest. Pittsburgh brokerage firm of Moore, Leonard and Lynch, and was an executive in the company’s New York Wall Street office.The Cutting family is listed in the social register..Cutting’s father, Fulton Oitting, is an eminent electronics engineer, a past president of the Institute of Radio Engineers, and assistant to the president and trustee of Stevens Institute ofTechnology at Hdboken, N. J.Young Cutting had been married to and divorced from Katherine Drexel Van Pelt, now Mrs. Henry T. Mortimer. They had one daughter, Helen S. Cutting, now 10 years old.
