Women and kids lino up jinri smile at them, talk to them, hand them tlowers as they arc carried 10 the ambulances.From another part of the train, men with arm wounds and the like, who can walk, pile off the train, all smiles.A young Britisher Of three, looks at the apple lie has taken a huge bite out of. carefully puts the bitten side down in his palm and offers the apple to one of Lho Americans. The American insists they're not allowed to eat fruit, and has a chat withyoung Mr. John Bull about the fishir*’ in the neighborhood.The ambulance train finally pulls out for the hospital and arrives half an hour later. Every wounded man who can walk, and some who can't, all the nurses who can leave the wards—everybody is cm; for the welcome.
