CpI. Simon Dies InJaps’ Prison CampPOET CLINTON, Sept 17 — Relatives here have received information that Corporal RussellD. Simon, a member of the Port Clinton Tank Company died in a Japanese prison camp, July 1, 1942. Corp. Simon had previously been reported missing in action following the fall of Bataan. He is survived by * his mother, Mrs. Emma Simon, who is now with a sister in California; brothers, Richard Simon, here, Lloyd and Ford Simon of Gypsum.Five of the six brothers were members of the Port Clinton Tank, Company at one time, with the sixth brother having been a former member of the company. The father, the late Harry Simon was at times a member of the United States national rifle team which took part in the Olympic and International Matches in foreign countries.Sgt. Joseph W.
