Warfel Passed in PrisonClye Park, SepL. 15.—Mr. and Mrs. Paul Warfel of Clyde Park have been informed officially that their son, Corp. Emmett Warfel. died in an enemy prison camp in Japan oil Feb. 1G last. Only a lje; phort time ago, his parents were | told that he was believed to be safe. Tho earliest report said he bad perished last December, in the sinking of an enemy prison ship near the Philippines.The war department message just received gave no details.Corporal Warfel was taken prisoner when Bataan fell, in 194 2. He remained In a camp on Luzon some time, then Was transferred to Japan, the earlier message said.The soldier was born on Oct. 25, 1916. in Sheridan, Wyo. He spent his boyhood there. Theys,sixisanby family came here in 1935. He;Hgheofev.toentered the army in 1 9 4ft and soon; after was sent to the Philippines.Surviving beside Corporal War-! lei’s parents arc three brothers, Edward, with the army in the Philippines, and George and Le-Roy Warfel, both of Clyde Park.
