Ralph CosgraveRalph S. Cosgrave was a dedicated citizen and patriot.As a young man he served with the famed 37th Division in France during World War II. He came back from the war and organized and commanded the George Selsam Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. In fact, the present VFW home in South Seventh street is located in his boyhood home.During World War II he served on Selective Sendee Board No. 2.He worked as vigorously on behalf of veterans of this war as he had for his World War I “buddies'* for nearly three decades.Taps sounded this week for .Mr. Cosgrave at the age of 70.He will be missed by hundreds of veterans and the community in general.
