Warren Wheeler Whelchel, a prisoner of the Japanese since the fall of Bataan, is alive and in fair health.| The message was written by Sergeant Whelchel from Camp Hoten at Mukden, Manchuria. It was the , second written word Mrs. Whelchel had received since April of 1942, when her son’s unit, the 200th Coast Artillery Antiaircraft, was lost in the Philippines.
