Madison, Sept. 1.—Letters received here state that the 26th, 37th, and 38thWisconsin regiment were all engaged in the recent fighting south of Petersburg on.' the Weldon railroad.(.'apt -ferman report- to the Governor the following casualties August 20th : Lieut. Ginty, Co. E, killed, shot through the head;Lieut. Russell, Co. F, wounded in shoulder, severe: three privates killed, names not known.
