Only several prison cards'were received from Spindler by his mother. In one he told of receiving a box of food and other articles which had been sent to him.Palawan Island is a rather long island.in the vicinity of Mindora. That island was captured by the I Americans on Dec. lo without 3: much resistance according to newspaper accounts. It was while the Americans were making great headway in their invasion that the Japanese officers ordered guards to kill the prisoners.
