ERICK EUGENE THEODORE HOGLUNDErick Eugene Theodore Hoglund. 68, died at his home on Portage Lake near Cass Lake on Saturday.Funeral services will be held today in the Missionary Alliance Church in Cass Lake with the Rev. Arlo Feiock officiating Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery under the direction of the Cass Lake Funeral Home.Mr. Hoglund was bom on March 1. 1908 in Aurora to Erick and Matilda Hoglund They moved to Wilkinson Township and later to Little Portage Lake where they operatedHoglund Resort He spent all his life there except for a short time on the IronRangeHe served with 194th Battalion in the Army for five years He was in World War II and was a survivor of the Death of March Batan He was a prisonor of war for three and half years before returninghome.On Aug 12, 1948 he married Lasetta Felt in Cass Lake He is survived by his wife and three children, Karen. Minneapolis; Mrs. Robert (Eva) Fitzsimmons, Brainerd; Erick, Cass Lake; one brother, Bartel, Walker and other relativesHe was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and four brothers.Mr Hoglund was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Defenders of the Bataan and Corriagdor, Farmers Union and a member of the American Legion of Cass Lake an past commander of the VFW.
