more nooie races. The meeting Monday evening, while under auspices of the Pella Red Cross chapter, was really an inspirational meeting. ^The Red Cross did come in for an inning, however, when Auctioneer Jake Van Zante was called to the platform to sell a quilt with Red Cross designs all over it. The quilt is the work of the Moonlight Mission Band of the First Reformed church and the names inscribed on it upon payment of a small charge had brought in $70 for the funds of the local chapter, Mr. Van Zante called for donations for Red Cross work and raised $160 in this manner. He then sold the quilt, the purchaser repeatedly donated it back to be resold, until it had brought a total of $83. These various sums netted $313 as the income from this quilt, which will be used for local expenses of the Pella chapter.
