Sgt. Spindler Is Reported Killed(Continued tram page one)my forces.II was months after the surrender before Mrs, Spindler received any word from her son and the only information about him was provided by prison cards. During- 1943 he received a box which was sent to him and one of his cards mentioned that fact.Spindler was born In Edwards-ville on Feb. 2, 191S. His father was the late Frank Spindler whose death occurred when the child was eight months old. After graduation from school Spindler was employed at Granite Steel Castings Corporation at Granite City for n time and also at a local service j station.'? Besides his mother is is survived by one sister, Mrs. Gus Sol-( ter, and Glenn Spindler, a brother, recently discharged from the armed forces.
