Methodist Youth Group OpposesI Selective ServiceBaldwin, Sept.- 3 {.^—Representatives of Methodist youth, adopting a program designed to help keep the nation out of war, asked for repeal of the Selective Service act and protection of civil rights of selectees in army camps.Attending the conference of the Methodist youth fellowship were 138 delegates from most of the 48 states. Their program is aimed at uniting the 2,000.000 Methodist young people in the peace movement.J. Kemp ton Jones, Salisbury, N. C., was elected first president of the new organization.Another proposal adopted was for a peace demonstration, next Armistice day.
