A meeting of the local committeewhich was appointed by the Salvation Army to take charge of their state wride Home Service Campaign in Cen-tralia, was held at the postoftice lastnieht. Chairman H. G. Cormick presided. |W. C. Haverstck the field director of the campaign was present. Mr. Haverstack has charge of several counties besides Marion. He gave a general outline and the purpose of thecampaign, wiicih is to be held fromSeptember 22 to the 29th.Centralia’s quota is $3K00, which if. almost half of the county quota ot‘ $7800. The quota is based on 40 cents per capita for industrial centers and 20 cents per capita f:r rural communities. •' A general ^discussion of the plans of conducting the campaign here in Centra 11a was held, and Mr. Tufts made the suggestion that the returned soldiers. be invited to assist in making the campaign. This suggestion was adopted and the following committeewas appointed: W. {I. Dralle, J. CarlHall. Troy Harmon, Chester White, Justin Kohl, Clyde Young, Ralph Buckner, Ralph Hankins and Wallace Holcomb. All cf these men have hada great deal of military life, and knowwhat the Salvation Army did for them.This committee is to meet with the lo-'cal committee in the City Hall Sundayafternoon at 3:00 o’clock, where theplans for the campaign will be gone over.
