The Pas Girl Guides need your helpDevon ParkerTimes staffIn the 1940’s the world was a lot different than it is today, and metaphorically speaking anyway, it was a much bigger place.Canada was still part of the British Empire, the only way in and out of the north was the railway, and it wasn’t uncommon to get news from the rest of the world weeks after it actually happened.In a world before television and the internet, people still took the time towrite long and meaningful letters and a popular pastime was having a pen-pal— someone that was usually in a far-off land that you exchanged letters and became friends with.In 2010 it will be Guiding’s 100th birthday and The Pas Girl Guides needs your help.
