M, 2nd Class, it has been learned here. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs R D. Roland of this city.In an interesting letter writtento his sister, Mrs. Albert Kuhn of this city, Mr. Roland advised of his promotion and said he had signed an affidavit to remain with the service four years. He was to leave for China on a maneuver period and said that he would receive his first, experience as a bombardier.Mr. Roland also pointed out thathe recently been Involved in his ftet “crack-up.” but escaped without injury.He is attending the Universityof the Philppines.
