Ft W. Gen. Blackden and a number of high oftl- * cials will be asked to address the F. meeting, and it is expected that the citizens of Kingston will turn out in large .lumbers as the matter which * is to be discussed concerns no one i class .but all Jamaicans.His Worship the Mayor has issued an open invitaticn which appears in j c advertisement form in the present] issue and all persons interested are Jsummoned to be present. \c-if 11Views By Rev. W. Graham.With regard to the war memorial proposed by Mr. F, X. Martinez's Committee, a reporter of this journal had an interview with Rev. J. W. 5 Graham yesterday. t *Mr, Graham gave his views as follows:— “The time is inopportune for such a movement. All the money which can now .be raised is needed to carry on' the war, and whilst the effort is laudable and worthy that fact does not warrant its being under taken aow,1 But Flrould. those who desire to make the effort want toj£ proceed,' 1 propose that a trust be;r ^ ™ ~ TT ^ 11 fliA mnnnv'c i *tanJVformed and all the money's-collect-j ed for this pupose be in the meantime, invested in treasury bonds, which I think con be had at 17/C in the pound redeemable five years hence. This will enable the. Government to •utilize the money to get on with the war, and if victory accrues to our cause which I do not doubt -there will- be a good amount for such a purpose. If victory does not accrue. there will be no need of such effort.cII■ctQ
