MacArthur Park Will BeReady For Use Dec.MacArthur park, Sandusky’sdefense housing project lo-cated on the former Erie-eo fairground site at the corner of Camp-st and Perkins-av, will be partially opened by Dec. 1, Manager Earl Corbin announced today.Corbin said that present plansWASHINGTON, Oct. 20 (UP)—The House by a standing vote of 130 to 2 today approved a conference report onthe $9,600,000,000 war tax bill: *and returned it to the Senate for final Congressional action.call for 100 of the 200 units to be ready for occupancy by that date, with the balance to the opened as soon as completed.Bad weather the past week has hampered construction operations to a certain extent, Corbin said, with roads and sidewalks yet to be built. Materials are on hand for all the units.Corbin said that approximately 275 persons have applied for homes at the park, but, he said, in order to save on tires and gasoline, the first 100 units will - be rented to those persons who have to travel distances to work in Sandusky. lt;The start of gas .rationing before date of the opening makes it necessary thit - those { defense workers whcr live-ai^^^ tant points be given first choice of the housing units. ;The project must be. approved and accepted by the government before the first housing units, are rented.
