20 Persons Hurt As Army Bus OverturnsBus From Camp Ritchie, With About 40 Passengers, Wrecked Early Today—Injured Takento Army CampAt least . 20 WACs and soldiers were injured, some seriously when an Army bus from Camp Ritchie overturned at the intersection of ' -N'ortheru avenue and Hamilton boulevard shortly after midnight this morning.The occupants o£ the bus, all from Camp Ritchie, were returning from a party at the Masonic Temple.The driver drove into Hamilton boulevard instead of continuing on the Leitersburg pike. Coming to the dead end of the street at Northern avenue, the truck driver attempted to swerve to the right and the bus turned over on its side and was pinned against a telephone pole.Ten women and ten men were given emergency treatment at theWashington County Hospital and later taken in Army ambulances to the Camp Ritchie hospital.Among the more seriously injured were Winifred Webb, broken arm.Jennie Staples, broken left arm, bruises and abrasions.Christine Slevin, possible fractured rib and severe contusions.Della Sullivan, bruises and ab-sions.Michael Kyriakis, bruised chest.Michael Grados, contusion of finger and brush burns.The driver, who suffered slight injuries, was being questioned early this morning by military police at Police headquarters.Occupants of the bus crawled out(Continued on Page 2)
