Shoup, who wns killed at tho battle of Gettysburg by being shot in the tera-plo on the 3d of July, 1863 Mr. Shoup spenkfl in tho wnrmtel Urns of the kindness and attention ebown him during this pilgrimage. Tbo good people of the neighborhood in which the aangniua-ry engagement took place aided him in every way to find the spot where the remains of bifl brave boy were deposited. Amongst otheri to whom * Mr. Shoup was specially indebted for kindnoss and conrteiy was ilr. Benjamin Speck, of West Vs., who had bean a good Southern man and very kind to oar eoldiere during the war. This gentleman took Mr. Shoup in hia buggy to Gettysburg, and rendered him all the assistance in the power of any one to find the spot whore tho asbes of hit son rested.
