The game against Boonville, last Friday, which resulted in a score of 46 to nothing in favor of Lincoln, was merely a practice game. It will be different, however, next Friday, October 15th, with the East St. Louis High School team. TRc boys from the Illinois town are seasoned players and very hard to handle. Ijast j year, the Lincoln Institute team de-,! feated them here by a score of 15 to 13. Still unconvinced of the superiority of the Institute, they made « challenge for the latter team to conic down to East St. Louis. Again the Institute team walloped them by a score of 12 to 0.Most of the old players arc back. Guy King, a fast back-fielder, is lost by graduation, as is also Theodorej Holdier. §mith, a Jefferson city boy, J is back as quarter, however, his posi- i tion is being contested for very closely by Franklin, a new student from Iowa. A number of old students who have been trying on second team, are now candidates for places made vacant by graduation and other causes.
