A government, telegram to. this effect was received Wednesday morning by the soldier's father, Joseph Wehner,He was a. member of Battery D, Three Hundred and Seventh Field, artillery, and was called into service on April 2$th. He trained at Camp DJx and reached France in June. ' 'The last letter.received from him was under date of August 5th and stated he was well, but in.the thickest of the fighting..
