Capt. Williams got into an argument this summer in Germany* Some persons next to him at the Olympics asked, “Isn't Hitler a splendid man?” Our captain, wishing to be polite, responded, “He is like a thoroughbred *horse.” The foreigners understood the “horse word but did not know what “thoroughbred meant. They became incensed, thinking that Capt. Williams had called Hitler some kind or some part of a horse. Happily, he was able to explain. No one can afford to speak ill of Hitler in Germany,
