District Board Sends Long List of Dubuque Men Certified Into Service. BOARD CHANGES DECISION Frank A. Sass, Recently Dis charged, is Certifed——May Not Call More Men. Buty more Dubuque young men have been certified for military ser vice, according to lists received by the par exemption board from the dis trict exemption board at Waterloo, on Thursday. In the certified lists the board at Waterloo has rejected sev eral appeals made by selected men who were accepted by the local board and also notified the board that one man discharged by the district board had been certified by them. DISCHARGE 18 WITHDRAWN. The latter man, Frank Sass, teller of the German-American bank, was granted exemption by the Waterloo district board on industrial grounds. Rass was accepted for service by the local board and made no claim for ex emption before them. Exempton was Claimed before the district board on industrial grounds and the district board at Waterloo discharged him from service According to the report Thursday they have reconsidered this action and have certified him for ser vice. In the report, the board says: “Certificate of discharge withdrawen on grounds that error was made in granting said certificate on the evi dence and proof filed.” On receiving the list of fifty more certified men for service, Chairman John McEvoy of the board stated that now they did not think it would be necessary to call more men for the next quota. In case they would have to call more men, the chairman stated that it would be under 106 and possi bly under fifty men. LARGE NUMBER CERTIFIED.
