Pvt. Osborne is In a Military Police company in foreign service, (Alaskan area).Randolph, Carroll Howard, son of Earl and Irene Randolph, w«ts born May 3, 1910 and joined the Air Corps July 22, 1943. Pvt. Randolph is now in an Anti Aircraft Battery at Fort Bliss, Texas. His wife, Opal Baker Randolph lives near Long Bottom.Reed, Maurice Verion, son ofAlvle and Roxle Reed, was born June 9, 1925 at Port Homer, Jefferson County, Ohio, and joined the Air Corps Aug. 18, 1943, Pvt. Reed was sent to Fort Hayes for assignment to some training camp.Rood, Maurice Edward, son ofHarrison Rood and Daisy Barber Rood, deceased, was born September, 1920 at Port Homer, Jefferson County, Ohio, and joined the Army Jan. 18. 1943. Sgt. Rood, a pre-Pearl Harbor father, Is now in an Engineer's Maintenance Co. at Camp Claiborne, La. His wife, Lucy Christy Rood, daughterHelen, age four and son. age oneyear, live at Success, Olive Twp. Rood. Stanley Eugene, son ofCharles and Eva Raldolph Rood was born Nov 9, 1921 at Eden, Ohio, and joined the Army Oct. 13, 1942 Pfc. Pvt. Baker was honorably discharged from Camp Wolters, Texas, May 28, 1943 (medical discharge) and is now working in a rubber factory at Akron, Ohio.Barber, Albert Grant, son ofArchie and Emma Randolph Barber was born July 22, 1922 and joined the Army Nov. 9. 1942. Pvt. Barber has been honorably discharged and is now working on the steamer, America.Cashdollar, Alfred Joseph, son of Crosby Cashdollar and Mrs. Jane Powell, was born Sept. 2, 1914 at East Liverpool, Ohio, and joinedthe Army May 11, 1942. Having served at Camp Robinson, Ark., Camp Murray, Wash, and Prince Rupert, British Columbia, Pfc.Cashdollar was honorably discharged, March 17, 1943, (medical discharge) and is now employed inthe Westinghouse Electric Co. plant in Canton, Ohio.Shumway, Gerald Eugene, son of Frank and Etta Shumway, was born Sept. 18, 1901 and joined the Army Oct. 26, 1942. Pvt. Shumway was located at Camp Shelby, Miss.In the Signal Corps until his honorable discharge, Feb. 20, 1943. (Age discharge). He is now at home and is engaged in farming.Childers, William Lawrence, son of Oren and Ola Jarvis Childers, was born Oct. 15. 1922 at Gasa-way, W. Va and joined the Army Jan. 18. 1943 Cpl. Childers is at the Military Reservation, Va.Hamilton, John David, son of Charles Hamilton and Leeta Hamilton, (deceased), was born July 5, 1925 and joined the Navy Sept. 22, 1943 He had not yet been assigned to his training station as this was written.Watkins, Gerald Nowland, son ofHarlow and Carrie Watkins, was ixwn July 16, 1925 and joined the Navy Sept. 22, 1943. He has not yet been assigned to his 1 raining station.OBSERVATIONSIt is interesting to note that nine soldiers from Reedsville precinct entered service before Pearl Harbor and two more the day fol-j lowing, Dec. 8, 1941.Breaking down the Reedsville precinct list we find that there are seventeen married men. By branches of service, there are two paratroopers, seven in. the AirCorps, one Marine and six in theN a v v jj There have been six honorabledischarges, five medical and one1 for age.j So far as we know, this completes the roster of those in service from Reedsville precinct.
