James Whitacre ;RUSSIAVILLE, Ind. — James R. Whitacre, 77, 227 S. Liberty St., died at 5:01 a.m. Monday, Nov. 28, 1994, in Saint Joseph Hospital Health Center in Koko-mo.He was bom March 24, 1917, in ] Tipton County, to Harvey and j Mina (Nicholson) Whitacre. Jan. 1, | 1949, he married Ruth Kinder Whittaker, who died Oct. 13,1986.He retired in 1979 from Continental Steel Corp. after 30 years of service. He worked in the paint department. Helived in the Russiaville area since 1949. He served in the Army during World War It. He was a member of Russiaville American Legion Post 412 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1152 in Kokomo.Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law,: Norman' and Margie Whittaker of Sharpsville, Earl and Sharon Whittaker of Santa Fe and John and Judy Whittaker of Windfall; two daughters and a son-in-law, Marylene and Lonnie Tucker and Waneda Faulkner, all of Kokomo; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Sarah and Thomas Finch of Mooresville and Rose O'Brien and Mary Lou and Charles Colvin, all of Kokomo, and Martha and Harry Vautaw of Tipton; 22 grandchildren; and 36 great-randchildren. Also preceding im in death were two sons, Francis Whitacre and Thomas Whittaker; six brothers; a sister; and a great-grandchild.Whitacre
