Another Greenville Boy Gives His Life For His Country.The joyous Thanksgiving Day was marred in some homes by sad news, of which one. was Station Agent J, C. Jackson’s of the Eric railroad.The boy who had gone out with his pals in the summer of 191? to train at Grove;,City to meet the bar*-barious Hun had “og'ne. West.” It was the price of victory Corporal Jolm Melvin Jackson paid.The: last word received from him was written -in Base Hospital 22, A. E. P., France, Oceober 15. A chum did the writing for Melvin was not able. The letter was dictated. . The patient was improving, the lines read, but the dispatch from Washington, Thursday said that death came that very day, October 15. •Corporal Jackson' had been gassed in August but- recovered; only to be wounded in one arm. and carried back of the line to the base hospital.
