First LeMars Volunteers Leave For Army Camp In Des Moines The Day Before ThanksgivingIrri .»51IPlymouth county’s first draft contingent will report in Des Moines November 27 at Fort Des Moines. There are four volunteers jn the draft office now and the first quota is only two men. The men will be taken in order of their enlistment.The men will receive further physical examinations at the Des Moines army post and will be sent from there to either Fort Snelling in Minnesota or Fort Leavenworth in Kansas where they wil receive basic military training before being sent to join a regular army unit.The four volunteers have indicated that they will enlist in the navy.The following statement was issued by the draft board Saturday: “The following named men havebeen selected for induction by thisboard. They shall* report to this local board at the office of the local board, at 4 p. m. on November 26, 1940, whereupon they shall be sent to an induction station of the United States Army at Fort Des Moines: 78 V Raymond Thomas Hansen, 115V Leonard Frank Meis.Because one or more of the men named above may not be inducted at the induction station by the armed forces, the following named men may be required as replacements. Any man so required to report os a replacement shall be duly notified at least five days before he is required to report: 1533V Ray Theodore Kobberman, 1867V Vincent Henry Zimmer.H. H. Wetzeler, Local Board Member” More questionnaires were sent out to the registrants last week and early this week. Following is a listof the names with order numbers between 200 and 300.
