We have re-* rfrained from commenting upon this request, waiting to see what action Governor Williams would take. Up to thislt; »*time he has done nothing but refer the subject to the Adjutant General. Some may suppose that this request of the | Texas Governor has grown out of thenew era of conciliation and amity towhich some reference was made during the recent speech making attending the visit of the President to the South.
