Elston, has been awarded a battlefield cititation for bravery in a combat situation while serving with Bravo Company, First Cavalry Division near Plie Me. Viet Nam.In the incident for which he was cited. Pic Krai and three companions on patrol were ahn-bushed and pinned down by Viet Cong rifle fire.Krai ran across an oicn area, attracting the Viet Cong fire then held off seven of the guerrillas permitting his companions to escape to a safe distance and radio for help.
