MANY PLEAS TO CANADATo request the Dominion to do her share to alleviate the plight of Jews in Germany, many were on their way to Ottawa today from many parts of Canada. There are many pleas to Canada to open her doors to refugees. In unison with the might of the mass behind their thousand upon thousands of Canadians from Halifax to Vancouver gave unanimous endorsation yesterday to protests over Hitler’s policies towards Jewish subjects.There were few dissenting voices to the proposal that Canada become a haven for seekers after peace and quietness. At Toronto the Canadian Corps Association sent Prim# Minister King a note of concern over the “forced mass immigration”, and suggested that Africa might be a more suitablenlace for settlers.
