Beyer, was taken into custody by Sheriff McLeod Tuesday for his pro-German utterances to a committee that was soliciting Y. M. C. A. funds. Sanders stated among other things that he would like to be back in Germany so that he could take up arms against the United States. Sheriff McLeod was notified and the arrest followed. A United States Deputy Marshal of Sioux City came to Ida Grove and took the German sympathizer along with him.ALTA NEWS ITEMS
