We are in favor of conciliation, but this is too much conciliation for us. Commence making concessions and granting the requests of these South ern Democrats and they will demand a surrender of all that was gained by the struggle for the preservation of the Union. If they still glory in their shame and are so proud of their treason as to desire the possession r»t this flag, it may be as honorable for the boys who captured it to retain it till it is re-captured in the same way.
