Gov. Hubbard, of Texas* recently addressed a letter to Gov. Williams, of this State, requesting a return of the flag oi the Eighth Texas Regi-*inent, which was captured by the Seventeenth Indiana Regiment, at CoosaviHe, Georgia, in October, 1864, and is now among the trophies in the State House Library at Indianapolis. Strange as it may seem, Gov. Hubbard has become just «■“reconciled” enough to think that the flag ought to bo returned; “as an evidence that wo are indeed friends again.” The fact that Indiana is “governed” by a Democrat perhaps encouraged the valiant Texas Governor to make this modest request— as he had reason to believe it to be iq keeping with Democratic policy” to grant the request,—but we imag' lae that even Blue Jaans Williams
