You know that our 12-week training period started on Nov. 4, and we certainly had a lot of studies and training manuals to read at night so we were kept quite busy. In these following weeks we will be instructed in extended order drill, combat intelligence, signal communication and first aid.The weather took a decided drop and overcoats came out of their hiding places and were worn withold Sibley stove made its appearance and now you see smoke pouring forth from each tent. From a distance is seems like there is a great fire. They sure feel good on these cold mornings. We have had several promotions in the company and they are as follows: Corporal ifcobert McCord to the grade of technical sergeant; Sergeant Robert Wilder to the grade of staff sergeant; Corporal Elton Weaver also to the grade of staff sergeant; Corporal Donald Ziegenhardt to the grade of sergeant; Private First Class Tom Jones to grade of corporal; Privategreat satisfaction. Gloves were! First Class Carl Richards to the also brought into use, as were the grade of corporal; Private First complete woolen uniform. Extra j Class Harry Rolph to the grade of blankets were issued to each man, I corporal, and Privates Robert giving each three apiece and I do 1 Dumford, Howard Duckwall andmean that they are put to use and appreciated. This morning the temperature was down around 35 degrees and that is quite a change to what we had been having. TheLawrence Sullivan to the grade of privates- first class. These men are acting in their full capacity with each one having a different position. Sergeant McCord is theBattalion Sergeant Major; Ser-' geant Elton Weaver is the supply sergeant; Sergeant Robert Wilder is the first sergeant who runs tfie company in the field and Sergeant Donald Ziegenhardt who is technical advisor. Corporal Carl Richards has command of the fhrvt squad with Tom Jones as second in command. Corporal Hartf Rolph is second in command of the second squad. We are still in our temporary barracks and wishing that we could move as it is much wanner in the new type tents. Your correspondent did some washing today and hung it out to dry, or at least that was the intention, but when I came back at 4:30 in the afternoon the wash was frozen to a certain degree, so I had to bring it into the tent and hang it by the stove. It seems as if this is just about the news for this week so until we meet again, I shall say good evening.
