Army Tells How Lawrence Corporal Died Of Malnutrition In Red PW Camp★ ★ ★LAWRENCE, Nov. 19 — A filial chapter was written In the life .storyof a Lawrence GI captured by Chinese Communists ,when his family got word this week that their son died of malnutrition11 on June 1051.Cpl. Donald McGowan, Jr., 24, captured in May 1951 was sent north to a prison camp where,army authorities say released prisoners oi war have told them the young paratrooper died.The letter signed William E.
