Two young gunners with 49 missions in British bombers between them were among 47 American airmen who trans ferred to the USAAF from the RAF and RCAF yesterday in London. The men included pilots, navigators, bombardiers, wireless operators, gunners and ground staff. M/Sgt. Jimmy Wells, 24-year-old tail gunner from Temple, Tex., joined the RCAF in Ontario in July, 1941, and hit Berlin, Hamburg and most of the heavily defended Ruhr cities during his 23 sorties in Halifaxes. T/Sgt. Eddie Brennan, 21, of South Norwalk, Conn., came to Britain from Bermuda in 1941 to join the RAF, and sweated out 26 missions without injury, although his ship was hit many times. Tired of being ‘just a passenger,” he wants to train as a pilot in the USAAF. Other transferees: i/Les. D. B. Barker, Ridgefield, N.J.: Daniel D. Denham, Omaha. Nob.: Charles S.
