Blue Ridge Quartet member dies in ButlerBUTLER — A member of the popular Blue Ridge Quartet died in Butler Memorial Hospital last week.Burl Strevel of Spartanburg, S.C., who was also part owner of the singing group, was pronounced dead at 10:27 p.m. Thursday by Butler County Coroner William F. Young Jr. Death was from a heart attack.The gospel group was performing that evening at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ when Strevel took ill and was taken to the hospital.The quartet has made numerous appearances in the New Castle area.
