Corporal Frederick Wendt, De Pue has received a discharge from the army after more than four years of service. He arrived home Saturday evening from the Ft. Sheridan sep-1 aration center.Cpl. Wendt has had an unusual army career. One of the first from this community to enter service, he spent 29 months in the Panama Canal Zone with an anti-aircraft unit before being sent home on furlough. He then spent some time at Camp Stewart, Ga., and Camp Livingston, La., before being assigned to overseas duty again, this time to Europe. He served in France and Germany.Twice-wounded in Pacific battle action, Marine Sgt. Robert Harrison, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Harrison, De Pue, arrived home Saturday for a 30-day leave.Serving with the Sixth marine division, Sgt. Harrison sustained wounds on Guam and again on Okinawa. He was last stationed on Okinawa before being relieved of duty. He has been in service since March, 1943. vvvvv-
